Window and Door Installations Screws

When installing windows and doors, choosing the right products and screws for the installations are paramount. Ensuring you have the correct and proper anchoring and stability with each fixture is a must.

So whether you are installing UPVC or aluminum frames hopefully we can make the daunting process of having the right screws a little easier.

For a full range of what we sell please visit here. However we will highlight a select few products for your installations.

Important things to consider

Size of your window: To know which screw sizes will suit your project, it is important to measure the window dimensions correctly and also make note of any additional weight requirements which could impact which screw you purchase.

Screw materials: Self tapping screws can make installations on UPVC or aluminum easier due to the fact they are self drilling with sharp tips. Also think about corrosion when choosing your screws, if your installation will have all the elements beating down on it, then you don't want a rusty screw!

Screw Sizings: When choosing the right screw make sure that you have your measurements spot on, choose a length for correct anchoring, making sure it is going enough into the frame to keep it secured, without going too deep. Also make sure you choose a diameter to keep the structural integrity.

Depending on the material of the window frame, different screws are required. If the frame is made of wood, the screws have small heads; for aluminium or plastic window frames, screws with countersunk heads are recommended.

Note: These window screws are also suitable for fixing door frames.

We always recommend screws being used over nails. Screws are far more strong and durable and will prevent frames from moving over time. Nails will effect the strength of your frame causing instability and possible damage. In terms of the installation process, screws can be easily installed, adjusted and removed. Nails may be easy going in, but in terms of adjustment or removal that's a different story.

So let's have a look at some of the products we will sell for your window installations. The full range can be visited here.
